Nigeria records 138 new COVID-19 cases across six states, FCT

Six states and the Federal Capital Territory reported 138 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, according to figures released on Sunday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

 The health agency reported no COVID-19 related deaths. 

 The NCDC disclosed this on its official website page on Sunday.

 According to the agency, the new cases were recorded from the FCT and six other states.

The FCT recorded the highest number of new infections with 51 cases, Anambra – 28, Lagos – 24, Benue – 18, Plateau – 9, Kaduna – 7, and Jigawa – 1.

The health agency said the 138 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 206,064.

However, 193, 893 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With no COVID-19 related deaths reported, the death toll from the virus remains 2,723, NCDC said.

It added that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
